The Francis Crick Institute

Located in the heart of London, the institute will be used by a range of scientists for innovative biomedical research to help better understand why disease develops and to find new ways to diagnose, prevent and treat a range of illnesses.

A high level of acoustic design detailing was required to ensure suitable acoustic conditions within the wide variety of internal spaces, focussing on achieving the right balance of internal ambient noise, suitable room acoustics and sound insulation between key areas.  The requirement for vibration control to protect laboratory areas was a feature from the start of the project and has involved a range of measures to control the impact of environmental vibration, as well as vibration generated by internal processes.
